How can a big brand like Burger King do such a careless
mistake like this. Let me tell you what exactly happened that day.
A couple, who had become vegetarian a couple of years ago,
decided to return to the chain after the discharge of their vegan burger.
As they were finishing off their burgers, they came to the
belief that that they had been sold chicken rather than a vegan alternative.
The burger then made them feel ill once they noticed the
chicken.
The anonymous woman, chatting with The Liverpool Echo, said
“We both became vegetarian a couple of years back so obviously hadn’t been to
KFC during a while.
“We heard about the new vegan burger and because it launched
yesterday we decided to offer it a try.”
When the couple ordered their meal through a drive-thru,
they specifically requested for “two vegan meals.”
The brand began advertising the “Beyond Meat” options within
the summer of 2019.
“It’s Kentucky Fried Chicken but it’s made with
@BeyondMeat,” the corporate posted to its Twitter account. “It’s confusing, but
it’s also delicious.”
The vegetarian customer added, “We asked for fries as a side
and were informed they weren’t vegan so clearly it had been understood what we
ordered. We had the selection of beans or corn on the other hand were asked if
we wanted a fillet or zinger burger.”
“I was a touch confused but thought maybe they were
different spices so I said fillet,” said the customer.
“I started searching online and other people were saying
they couldn’t tell the difference between it and real chicken but we realised
the error then,” the vegetarian went on. “My husband had already finished his
but I threw the remainder of mine away. i used to be physically sick after.”
According to descriptions of the burger online, the burger
was meant to taste just like chicken.
However, when the couple saw a billboard for the vegan
burger, they realized that it had been meant to return during a different box.
After seeing the advert posted on an ad , the enraged
customer recalled, “I rang the restaurant and asked them to verify which box it
had been alleged to are available . They said green and that i told them what
had happened. They offered us vouchers and free burgers but I wouldn’t be
willing to travel back there.”
“We just want people to remember in order that they can
check before eating.”
A KFC spokesperson issued an apology and said “Hands up –
this isn’t great. We’re really sad what happened to those guests, so offered
them a full refund immediately and replacement vegan burgers on the house.
“In this instance there was a miscommunication in what was
ordered, but we totally understand how important this is often to urge this
right, so we’ll still keep doing everything we will to stop these incidents
happening again.”
National File recently reported on a doctor’s findings
regarding the Impossible Whopper, an identical offering by Burger King.
Well according to me whatever happened with the couple that
day was completely wrong and unethical. Serving chicken instead of vegan burger
was something a brand like Burger King can’t do so carelessly, this resulted in
ruining the culture of that couple. Doing such kind of mistakes can worse their
relationship with customers further devaluing their brand image.

Unexpected from Berger King.
